Hinglish is how a lot of India actually texts — not “pure Hindi” and not clean English. If your AI character keeps answering like a textbook or flipping to English, the fix is usually how you prompt, not a magic model. These Hinglish AI roleplay tips are for adult and non-adult character chat alike.
1. Write the way you text
Don’t force Devanagari if you normally type roman. Don’t force English if you’d say “yaar kal milte hain.” Mixed is fine:
“Aaj mood off hai yaar. Office ne maar liya. Thoda baat kar le?”
On a site that treats Hinglish as first-class — like Moothmaro — the character should mirror that register instead of translating you into formal Hindi.
2. Name the relationship in the first messages
English-first bots guess “girlfriend.” Indian plots need a clearer frame:
- college senior / junior
- neighbour / PG mate
- office crush
- shaadi-pressure friend who teases
One line is enough: “Tum meri senior ho, hostel warden ke saamne soft raho.”
3. Correct English drift immediately
When the bot slips into English, say it in-character or out:
“Hinglish mein baat kar — English mat kar.”
Repeating once usually sticks better than rewriting the whole scene.
4. Keep scene details local
Train, metro, PG, society aunty, Diwali light, office cab — small props keep the model from inventing a Western apartment. You don’t need a novel; three concrete nouns beat a paragraph of lore.
5. Short turns beat walls of text
Real texts are short. Send 1–3 sentences, wait for the reply, then escalate. Long monologues push the model into essay mode — worse in Hinglish.
6. Adult scenes: be clear, stay 18+

Place + time + tone + constraint. That is enough for a good first reply.
